Parents Please Listen To Us!!

How would you feel, if you are talking to your child and he keeps on doing what he is doing without even considering your opinion?
How would you feel, if after explaining the reasons behind your action and your kid went on to do the exact opposite of what you told him to do?

Now, that’s exactly how we your kids feel when you do things without even considering our opinions.
We are your kids and we know that, you deserve our respect and we equally know that, but we are human beings too who deserve to be respected.
We kids are very watchful, we see a lot of things and we know a lot of things which you might not know we know.
We love you guys a lot but it hurts us more than anything when you make our decisions for us without talking to us first, or without first explaining why our own opinion is not the best
You ask us what we think and then go about doing things your own way and when we rebel you smack us or call us disrespectful.
What about us, what about our rights, what about our own respects, are we not allowed to have ideas and opinions?

Are we just supposed to follow you guys sheepishly without argument? Are we not old enough to experience the democracy which you guys talk about a lot?Are we just supposed to pretend to be dumb even when we know how right, smart and better our ideas are?Are we not allowed to make our own mistakes and learn from them, if not, then how are we supposed to get the experience you all talk about?
You look us in the eye when we were young and promise to be more considerate yet you don’t keep that promise.
Even when we turn 18 you treat us like we are 8 and discard our ideas, no wonder we use college as excuse to run away from home and be our selves.
Parents Please Listen To Us!!

I know how many times I got smacked without being allowed to defend myself even when I was right, all you know is that I had broken the rules and nothing else.
On one occasion I had been bullied at school by some boys and my school uniform was soiled and really dirty, when I got home I wasn’t even allowed to say “ah” and in came the smack raining down on me as if I stole something. And after I had finished crying they still didn’t bother to ask me what happened, all that matters is that I came back from school dirty.
One time I was flogged mercilessly at school for being dirty after recess was over, was I supposed to be as clean as an angel after playing football or what?
If you wanted me not be dirty then don’t put recreational activities that’ll get my clothes dirty on the recess timetable.
I love my parents and learn a lot from them but in this case I have learnt the opposite of what they did and I believe it’s the right thing.

PharoahSays that its high time parents and elders respect us as much as we deserve to avoid our rebellions against them.
They say "spare the rod and spoil the child", yes i agree but PharoahSays "misuse the rod and and cripple the child" and i believe me, a crippled spoilt child has more chance of becoming a better person in the society than a crippled one.
